The Capital Region Family Business Center

The Capital Region Family Business Center was created in order to assist family businesses in meeting their unique challenges and to be a resource center for issues related to family businesses.

It is the only organization in the region devoted to helping family businesses meet their unique needs. This is accomplished through special educational workshops, round-table discussion groups and relationship building social events.

The Family Business Center is an important addition to the region. Its events, workshops, seminars and special affinity groups have made a great impact on my family business and it’s success for future generations.

We’re always looking for ways to add value to your membership. What better way to promote your business than to share your story with the world? That’s the idea behind Member Spotlight.

Each month we interview a different Family Business Center member.

For this month’s feature, we turned to members of Frank Fat, Inc., the son Jerry Fat, and grandson Kevin Fat of the late Frank and Mary Fat. CEO/President Jerry Fat (JF), and Director of Business Administration/VP Kevin Fat (KF). The uncle and nephew share their perspectives on “no pressure” family recruiting and G2-G3 transition planning, among other insights.

Before the game our program will feature the story of Pacific Coast Building Products. This year is the 60th Anniversary of this family business. Pacific Coast Building Products’ origins go back to February 17, 1953, the day Fred Anderson opened the doors to Anderson Lumber Company in Sacramento, California. 

Bring the family, stay for dinner and baseball.

A tour of the stadium facilities will be provided along with a chance for kids to meet players.

This is a member favorite annual event provided in cooperation with the Savage Family.
